Spring Color in the Garden

The Black Agua in bloom.  It died back over winter, but the new growth has excellent blooms

Mother hen and chicks are bright red.  This is the color they turned in winter.  Don't know what will happen the rest of the year.

New Purchases Dianthus and Hydrangea

 Pink Pom Pom Dianthus

Type:   Perennial

Size:  Ground cover

Bloom:  pink flowers spring into summer

Location:   Waterfall west side.

We purchased these at Home Depot with the diplodenia.   We delayed planting so they were really dried out, but we did get them in the ground soon enough.  We moved the lavender most phlox that doesn't doing well to the south side of the garage and planted there.   The other small dianthus--firewitch pink is not doing well, so we moved it.   Hope this one will do well.  It's a zone 5

Fire Light Tidbit Panicle Hydrangea

Size:  2-3'  by 4'

Type:  Perennial

Flower:  white most of the summer to dark pink in the fall.

Location:  along north fence in between forsythia and spirea.  I hope to hid our neighbors mess.

Care:  blooms on new wood.  cut back to ground 1st of March before new growth.

We picked this up at KBK nursery in Saline.  It is a Proven Winner and hardy to zone 3.
